Today in the Ask Our Stylists blog series, stylist Lauren Schugar shows one of our lucky readers how to tie it all together with a winter scarf:
Fashion Dilemma: Scarves have become a very popular item and there are so many different ways to wear them. How would you recommend tying in a scarf to a winter wardrobe?
Tips From Stylist Lauren Schugar: I love scarves; they can transform a boring t-shirt and jeans into a put together outfit. You can honestly put scarves with anything imaginable- Your causal dresses you wear to work, a blazer with cords, and a skirt with a cardigan. Take a scarf with you when you’re shopping and try it on with every outfit. You might surprise yourself!
Try a long scarf that you can wrap around your neck once or twice. Like this one:

Mixed Stitch Scarf, Urban Outfitters $28.00
Another option is an infinity scarf. An infinity scarf is a giant circle that you wrap around your neck twice. It is fool proof. If you can’t find an infinity scarf you like, you can sew the two ends of a long scarf together. If you don’t know how to sew a tailor can do it in less than 5 minutes for around 10 dollars.

Cashmere Infinity Scarf, Banana Republic $98.00
Another way to wear a scarf is to tie it around your purse, like in the picture below:

You can use a scarf made from any type of fabric to tie on to your handbag, but I have found silk tends to work the best, mostly because it is so lightweight.
Scarves are both fashionable and functional, so f you don’t own one yet, buy one. They can be tied into your wardrobe all year around.
